A mini-profile on Mark A. Saulnier

Mark Andrew Saulnier, 34, started his architectural practice in 1994. He wanted to concentrate on historic restoration as well as traditional and contextual new building projects, both residential and commercial.

Before opening his Wilmington office, he worked in restoration architecture offices in New York City. He also worked for the National Trust for Historic Preservation at the Lyndhurst estate in Tarrytown, N.Y.

One of his local projects. Courtyard Condominiums, was recently awarded the Outstanding Residential Project of the Year by DARE (Downtown Area Revitalization Effort).

Mr. Saulnier received a bachelor of architecture and a bachelor of fine arts in historic preservation degree from Savannah College of Art and Design. He is a registered architect in New York, North and South Carolina and Georgia; certified by the National Council of
