Why did you choose architecture? I was always interested. I took drafting classes in high school for three years. My drafting teacher was very much my mentor. It was not until I went to school in Savannah that my interest in preservation blossomed. That then became my strong interest and carries through in what I do today.

What is your typical day? I am usually in the office by 8:30 and I have meetings throughout the day with clients and committees, review boards etc. When I am not in meetings, I am designing.

I also make field visits to project sites. I am currently working on a restoration on South Front Street I do some commercial design and high end residential. I have worked on Figure Eight and Bald Head Islands.

Whenever I develop a design, I try to protect the character and integrity of Wilmington.
