the water. The first-floor master bedroom, also with French doors leading to an ocean-view porch, has a spa tub, separate shower and dressing area. The second floor is reached via an octagonal, two-story stair tower, providing an element of drama. The master suite has its own bath, while the other two bedrooms share a connecting bathroom. This floor also has a large deck facing the ocean, accessible from the bedrooms via French doors. The heavy gauge, triple galvanized steel frame, engineered for this exact environment, exceeds most coastal building codes that have been strengthened after numerous hurricanes. The combination of hipped and gabled roof affords protection against high winds and makes for a dramatic exterior. Hipped roofs are inherently stronger than gablesm so they are predominant; where a gable is used. it emerges from a hip. The roof also uses newly developed, wind-resistant asphalt. |
