These were achieved with a Viking six-burner range with warming drawer, endless stretches of gleaming granite countertops and a large Sub-Zero refrigerator, situated at the back of the kitchen. The dishwasher is located on the interior of the island, and the microwave is hidden out of view on the far end of the island near the range. While the rest of the house is simply stunning, Jim laughs about friends and family usually finding their way to the kitchen. "We could put $100 bills in bowls in other parts of the house, but [people] still end up back in the kitchen!" he says. Dye says she was inspired by the architectural design of the traditional, shingle-style home. Keeping the look casual, yet captivating, Dye worked hard to have the function of the space blend with the Busby family's lifestyle. And the kitchen, Kathy says, is "command central," |
